Heads

A set of five collagraph prints expressing different emotions that people

may be feeling at any moment of time.

Emotion is a very personal thing and each person is moved differently

when viewing a piece of art work. In these pieces, the head is confined within the edges of the plate. I wanted to show vunerability and sensuality in a sympathetic way, but by using strong and gestural marks.

I chose the medium of collagraph as it allowed me to feel more in contact

with the image and the emotional response that i could give it during

the making of these plates by the construction, destruction and recontstructing of the drawing.
